TAR AND CHIP / SURFACE TREATMENT

Surface treatment is an alternative hard surfacing option for road or parking lot construction.

It consists of fine grading and compacting the stone base and the application of a layer of emulsion and 3/8 clear stone that is rolled. A second application of emulsion and chip stone is then immediately placed over the first. After an initial period of cure time (usually two weeks), loose excess aggregate is swept off.

The result is a stabilized road or parking lot surface that is considerably less in cost than asphalt paving. Some of our satisfied customers include:

  • Town of Fort Erie
  • Town of Lincoln
  • Town of Wainfleet
  • City of Welland
  • Marineland in Niagara Falls
